Merry Christmas!!!

I had a wonderful holiday with my family! I visited Santa at school, smothered my cousin Nicholas Vido and loved all the great toys Santa brought! I spend mornings in my kitchen whipping up Mac and cheese and end my days on my scooter or trampoline.

Musician in Training

Watch out world, I play a mean pink guitar!

Townsend Family Christmas

I celebrated Christmas a week early with my cousins, aunt Chelle, uncle Brett, grandma and papa. We had a lot of fun making gingerbread houses, visiting Santa and opening presents! We had so much fun that we crashed!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I had a great Thanksgiving. I ate turkey and rolls and never took a nap. Overall great day.

Day at the Park

We discovered a great park at Lake Hefner. Everything is perfect for me...I made my parents chase me all over and I even went down to the very dry lake. I played so much I had to rest on the park bench.

Happy Halloween!

Little ladybug....I had fun at the school carnival and trick-or-treating in my neighborhood, but I loved eating candy and answering the door when kids came to my house!

Pumpkin Patch

My class took a much-anticipated trip to the TG Farms Pumpkin Patch recently. I completed the corn maze, fed some goats (I was really brave, those goats are aggressive little monstors), posed with my class and most importantly, took home a pumpkin.

20 Activities in 2 Hours

Playgroup met at a really fun playplace/store on May Avenue. It is operated by a retired teacher and her friend and they can keep nine two year-olds busy! We sang four songs, completed three art projects, experience play doh and had a lot of free play, all in two hours!
Oh, and we got to decorate (and eat) cookies. Cool place.

On the Move

With a backpack and a stroller, I can move several babies at once. I am very resourceful these days, using my grocery cart to move loads of junk all over the house.

Hair, No Makeup

It is never too early to work on a "do". My hair is very unruly so I cooperated and allowed my mom to use sponge rollers before my birthday photo shoot. I agreed to the process because it took place while I was eating breakfast. Who said I am a tomboy?

Little Miss Princess

I had my portraits taken at the Myriad Gardens and it was really fun. My mom loves the pics so I thought I would share a few!

Staying Busy

I continue to be one busy little lady! If I am not talking or making a mess, I am sleeping! I had a fun weekend, enjoying the nice weather. I went to Orr Family Farm and interacted with some animals. Though my parents neglected to bring a camera to prove I was a true farm girl, I met a pony named Jack and visited the barns of a pig, some goats and a family of very hyper chickens! I ended my weekend by seeing Toy Story on Ice at the Great State Fair of Oklahoma. There was great sightseeing on the midway, but I did enjoy Woody and Buzz, along with Barbie and Mickie and Minnie Mouse. Overall, a true Oklahoma weekend!

Laine is 2!!!

Another year has passed and I am 2! I've been telling people my age for a couple of months, but now it is official. I had a serires of celebrations: a splash park in my backyard, cookies at school and a pizza dinner with my family. I managed to eat cupcakes and cake all week, which was what I was looking forward to the most! I am really getting a lot of use out of all of my new stuff, strolling with my new babies, hosting tea parties and picnics.

Strike a Pose

My daddy taught me how to pose for photos...pointy toe and all, but I still have a baby face! I'll share some of my poses in the next couple of weeks, just in time for birthday portraits. It has been quite a month, I haven't been able to go outside much because of the heat so I destroy the house instead. I am into "Laine make a mess!" and "Ewwww, yucky!" so the terrible twos have arrived!

"Colowado"

I escaped the heat over the 4th of July weekend and went to "Colowado" with my family. There was enough snow on the mountain that people were able to ski...in July! We watched a parade, shopped, ate a lot of good food and rode the gondolas to the midway point on the mountain to play games and watch other kids ride ponies! I even got up early to watch Carey and Lucas run in a trail run...they are crazy! I was my normal charming self, making friends with everyone (especially adults) by staying up late and showing off my skills. I sang Baa Baa Black Sheep, read books and did yoga poses for everyone. I had a great time, but now I am back to school and trying to beat the heat!

Miss Terry

After 25 years at Special Care, Miss Terry is moving on. I might hold the distinction of being in the infant room the longest of any typically developing child at Special Care, thanks to the program changes that happened right before I moved up to my new class in February. Terry has tons of very special friends and I know I am one of the best. I will miss visiting her every day, but I know I will see her a lot because my mom is so attached to her! Good luck Terry, I will miss you!

Smarty Pants

My idea of fun is relaxing with my laptop! My mom is not fond of the noises my laptop makes, but I don't care! I am learning a lot these days and showing off my skills...A,B,C,D and counting to ten (with a little help on "eight", I always seem to miss that one). I am definitely a sponge...you never know what I might say!

One Stylish Chick

It may be 100 degrees outside, but I love my leg warmers! If they don't work on my legs, I wear them on my arms. After all these weeks of wearing sandals, it feels great to rediscover my sock drawer!

I still love high heels. Shoes with open toes work best for my chunky feet, but I will wear heels of any kind. I personally think high heels work best with shorts and pajamas.

Growing up Fast!

I am really growing up fast. I have always been a "please" and "thank you" girl, but I am starting to show my manners by saying "bless you" every time I sneeze. I say it all the time because I have such crazy allergies! I am very particular about the way things are placed and love everything to be just right. My new skill is demonstrating the relationship between two people or objects that belong to people...if I see Nana, I always ask for Pops. Laine's juice, Daddy's shoes, Mommy's chair...it goes on and on. As long as everyone does what I ask them to do, everything is alright!

Another Day at the Zoo

I went to the Zoo with my class and my dad was able to be there this time! We missed the giraffes and tigers, but I was really excited to see the new baby elephant and the sleeping "teddy bear"! As you can imagine, I liked every ape in the place, especially the gorillas who showed off for us. I still refused to touch those nasty goats, but was happy to see the "lamby" and "piggies", only because they were in cages.
